Today was jam pack with the usual morning gym session, not the usual coach but she made up for having a good abs session at the end. Shortly after was supposing to head to the meeting at NUSS guild house @suntec city with my new ex-co of SMU Mensa but unfortunately I couldn’t due to other obligations with an interview at my community centre.
Well I’ve been involve in the newly set up 1st kids reading class at my neighborhood cc and I must say its working out well. Today I had a video session of “night at the museum” and I must say not only did the kids enjoy it but so did I and their parents! It ended well and I do hope to plan excursions to the library or have external sit- in sessions with teachers or even clowns hahaa..
I then had to rush off to a Futsol clinic session for kids that me and my pals began. The turn out could be better ;) but the kids were fun. Eager to kick the ball always and its just amazing to see them dribble and perfecting the passes and kick-in’s..thank god the weather was cloudy and not blistering hot.
Having rest awhile and chilled “abit” I had to attend a Indian wedding and it’s at Yishun! So far but it’s a close family friend. Upon reaching at the venue at 8 p.m I was greeted with an Indian wedding welcome filled with rectangular and shaped flower petals of red, green and yellow colors with candles. It was a sight for the eyes and the crowd was already packing the ballroom. It’s nice to see that friends, colleagues and extended relatives were present to welcome the bride and bridegroom. I was sitting at table 32 with my friends and shortly after the lights went off and soft music echoed through the ballroom. The couple emerged from the darkness with cameras clicking away. Could resemble a WWE event (I will be there for the Singapore event!) but a newly wed couple’s entrance to the ballroom and that slow walk in the centre isle is as exciting as the walk-in of athletes of the infamous wrestling events! Waves of hands everywhere, claps and whistling! The night proceeded with comic introduction by the MC and games for the kids. But the moment came when the buffet was ready to be served, I had fried lady’s finger, chicken curry, sambal mutton, fried cracker (papaddam), achah (cucumber/carrots side dish), dhal curry and briyani (yellow fragrant)rice. Food, great crowd of which I bumped into two old time friends from my academy during my national service days ensured the night did go well but there are still other plans to meet up my old pal for a late night out.
Hitch a ride from my friend’s car and ended up at Tanjong Pagar for my best’s pal set@bianco (formerly known as Mox bar) and picked up my old pal at the nearby station. The last time I went to that cool place was ages ago, somewhere mid last year. That place hasn’t changed much but I guess it suitable for events i.e. launches/ underground parties and such. The event was a birthday and it was packed with a beautiful young crowd. Thanks to my bud Dj Eugene and his buddy, Leslie, had drinks on the house and boy its been awhile since I had bailey’s and gin tonic. Midway through the set we even went to grab supper @maxwell foodcourt. We called it a night around 3 a.m where he had to sent off Leslie who was bonked out; always blurting out funny phrases through the ride to his east coast apartment.
So I’m looking forward to the physiotherapy session on the coming Monday, hope it’ll turn out alright as it’s been awhile I’ve had a session with them. I’ll update you on my condition. I’m writing this as I’m watching ‘happy feet’, I guess it’s a good message in the movie about how animals and humans can both play an integral part to help save mother earth and maintain its co-habitat. Just imagine what if, just what if animals could talk? What they would share their thoughts on and if there’s a way such as using sonar technology to decipher what dolphins are saying, chimpanzees having the ability to translate their thoughts to action. I just want to see our future to be shared by both beings through modernization and moving to a connected world; we do have the means to ensure the safety of both worlds. It’s on our hands and lets do lend a ear to the coming 7/7/07 LIVE Concert (Global Warming initiative) where the whole world will stand against this ongoing phenomenon. Let’s make a stand before it’s too late. Support and act!
It’s equal to the love that you make…loveless (Happy Feet)
Bonchance (Good luck) my brothers and sisters!
Saturday filled with kids, close friends and unplugged music!
